Dates: Sat. & Sun., Oct. 28-29th, 2006

Times: Sat.: 10am-1pm; 2pm-5pm; Sun.: Noon-4pm (approx. 10 hours of instruction).

Cost: Before Oct. 12th, $120 per person for entire 2-day workshop, ($130 per person at the door). Payment may be made by check, money order, credit card, or online with PayPal. (Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.)

Instructor Bio:

Tina Eggert is our respected teacher, and is honored as our guest “Kumu” from Mcdonough, Georgia. She has “uniki” credentials from Kumu William Kaulu Charmin in Chicago, IL. And Kumu Suse Soares in Kohala, HI. She has been an opening act and dancing with many artist from Hawaii including: Amy Hana’iali I Gilliom, Nina Keali’iwahamana, Cyril Pahinui, Dennis Kamakahi, Palani Vaughn and The Peter Moon Band. Competitions in Honolulu, Hawaii, The World Invitational Hula Competition. She is experienced in teaching workshops throughout the United States Mainland.

Description of Workshop:

We will be presenting our special guest “Kumu”, Tina Eggert. She will warm us with her knowledge and love of the Hawaiian culture and dances of Kahiko and Auana. We are focusing our workshop on Basics…(hand and foot movements)…all levels and interest are encouraged to attend. Tina considers this to be a beginners level workshop. We will master 1 kahiko style (ancient) and 1-2 auana (modern) dances. Three different songs will be taught..

We will be producing still photos and a Curriculum Video Notebook of dance moves taught in the class on DVD. The cost of the DVD will be $29 before workshop, with registration, or $35 at the workshop.

A CD of the music used for the workshop will also be made available for a modest cost. If you are interested in purchasing any of these items, please indicate the number that you need. Other items will be available for purchase from participating vendors at the workshop.

This workshop is by invitation only…so we have limited openings. Slots for attending are on a first come/first serve basis. Mahalo Nui Loa, (thank you very much)

NOTE: The location is tentative at this time, depending on enrollment and interest. We are still waiting for commitment numbers to finalize our location size. Also hotel and restaurant suggestions are in the making. We are expecting vendors. More information will follow as it becomes available.
